Terrain Description

Classic Chiltern undulating slopes covered in mature beech or mixed deciduous and conifer. Brashings and undergrowth are limited.

Courses close: 14:15hrs.

Please do not select a Very Late (or even Late) start time if you might take over 2 hours to complete your course. This will avoid you being constrained by the Courses Close time of 14:15hrs.


A full range of age colour-coded courses will be available (Black to White).
You may enter any course of your choice. See below for suggested courses for all age classes for this event.

Entry by midnight Sunday 2nd Feb 2020: Seniors £14.00, Juniors & Students £5.50
Entry by midnight Sunday 16th Feb 2020: Seniors £15.50, Juniors & Students £6.50
Entries after Sunday 16th Feb 2020 and EOD: Seniors £17.00, Juniors & Students £7.00

A discount of £2 will be available to people entering both the British Night Championships and the Chiltern Challenge together.

(Note: Extra charge of £2.00 per adult if not member of British Orienteering)

SI Air dibber hire: (Seniors and Juniors): £2.00 per dibber


Toilets, First Aid, Compass Point, Tom's Diner (British and Continental Catering).

Basic camping pitches will be available on Saturday night after the British Night Championships for those wanting to stay for the Chiltern Challenge on Sunday. See below for further details.

The event will have SI Air enabled.  If you do not have an SIAC card you can hire one from us for £2.  If you have an SI card (i.e. non-Air) you are welcome to use it if you wish. Your time, however, will be a bit longer as a result. Our advice, therefore, is to hire a SIAC card for the event.

Basic tent, campervan and motorhome pitches are available overnight on Saturday 22nd February. Only facilities provided will be water and event toilets.
