Final Standings in 2022 Junior Orienteering League

The final round of the inaugural Thames Valley Junior Orienteering League took place on 19th November in conjunction with TVOC’s Saturday Series event at Chesham Bois Wood.

There have been 5 Junior League events through 2022 in conjunction with TVOC’s Saturday Series, at Brill Common, Wittenham Clumps, University Parks in Oxford, Coombe Hill South and Chesham Bois Wood, with over 60 juniors taking part during the year.

The Junior League is for anyone who is aged 18 or under. Points awarded to each participant at each event are calculated against the clock, not their position relative to other juniors. For each age class on each colour course, there is a target time per km (straight line distance); and then each participant receives league points based on their individual time to correctly complete the course.

Each participant’s best points from 3 out of the 5 league events have counted towards their overall 2022 Junior League standing. Congratulations go to the following age class winners for 2022:

Age Class (W) Name Club
W10 Florence Rodgers IND
W12 Izabela Wyatt IND
W14 Amy R.D. TVOC
W16 Sophie R.D. TVOC

M12 Matvei Dnestrovskii TVOC

Full details about the league points scored at each event can be seen on the Junior League web page, along with lots of other information and the full rules.

The first 2023 Junior League event will be held in conjunction with the next TVOC Saturday Series event, which will be announced in due course.

The TVOC Junior Squad is for all members of the club who are aged 18 or under. We compete in various regional and national competitions each year and have occasional training sessions.
