Our Saturday Series events are primarily designed for newcomers to orienteering and for improvers, but experienced orienteers are also welcome.
At this event, TVOC will be hosting the English Universities Orienteering Championships (EUOC) in conjunction with OUOC.
Parking for the event is limited. Please endeavour to share transport with a friend if you can. All entrants bringing a car will need to say so when they enter, and provide the registration number of the vehicle; drivers arriving without doing so risk being turned away.
This event will be SIAC enabled

Terrain Description
Typical Chiltern woodland, steep in places, with generally runnable terrain and good path network. The area contains the usual selection of depressions both large and small. There are numerous log stacks which are to be avoided, none of these will be mapped.
Please bring a waterproof, suitable outdoor shoes, and a compass is recommended (also available for sale). All competitors must wear full leg protection (i.e. no shorts). Please bring your own drinks/water.
The Map
Pre-printed waterproof map at a scale of 1:10,000, with 5m contours. Size A4.
Map redraw using LiDAR data, Spring 2023 to ISOM 2017-2 with minor updates for this event, by Mark Thompson.
Courses
Please note the climb when choosing a course.
All course lengths are provisional until courses are finalised.
YOU MUST REPORT TO THE DOWNLOAD TENT BY 2PM LATEST AS CONTROLS WILL BE COLLECTED IN AT 2PM.
Control descriptions will be on the map only.
If you’re a runner trying orienteering for the first time, the Red course is ideal – you will probably run 6km doing it; if that is too much, then Orange might be more suitable.
For family groups, we recommend the Orange course, or Yellow if you want something shorter.
For juniors, Yellow is a good course, though juniors new to the sport should be accompanied.
60 minutes score, find as many controls as you can in the hour alloted. Controls have different values (10-30 points) reflecting the difficulty in finding them. 10 points late per minute, or part back late. Don’t be late back!
Course lengths are straight line distances between the control points. You can expect to run at least 20% more than the stated distances!
Note that Bradenham Woods are a challenging area for orienteering – it was used for the British Middle Distance Championships just a few years ago. So do not overestimate your skills – it’s better to err on the side of caution, and come away ready for a bigger challenge next time, than to find yourself frustrated and lost.
Start Times
You must enter online via SiEntries – see link at the top of this page.

IMPORTANT: Courses close at 2pm. You must report to the results tent by 2pm latest, even if you retire or have not finished. The controls will be collected from 2pm onwards
