Hodgemoor Woods is a popular area for our Summer evening training, but it’s several years since we had a colour coded event here in this beautiful Chiltern beech wood. This will also be our first event using SI touch free punching, so come along and have a go!
TVOC would like to thank Keith & Elizabeth Bennett of Chiltern Farm Food for kindly allowing us to use their field for parking. Please consider supporting their local farm butchery shop after the event (opposite the field entrance, open Sat 10am-2pm) – we can vouch for their excellent sausages!
Thanks also to Forestry England for permission to orienteer in the woods. A riding school use some of the paths, so please be considerate of any horses you see.
Directions / Parking
From M40 J2 Beaconsfield, follow signs to Amersham (A355). Bottrells Lane is a right turn after approx. 3 miles, shortly after the Harte & Magpies PH.
Parking in a field off Bottrells Lane – £1 per vehicle. Please approach slowly along this narrow lane and exercise caution, especially when exiting the field.
Terrain Description
This beautiful beech wood is gently sloping with a good path network, some nice open runnable areas and earth features
Please bring a waterproof, suitable outdoor shoes, and a compass is recommended (also for sale). All competitors must wear full leg protection (ie no shorts). Please bring your own drinks/water.

All Saturday Series entries include up to two maps printed on waterproof paper, for you to keep and take home after the event

How To Enter
We recommend you pre-enter. This reserves you a map, and avoids you having to fill in a paper entry form. Click on the Reserve a Map link below, and fill in your details, then pay when you arrive. Maps are reserved until 11:15.
NOTE this is our first event using SI. When you use the resrve map facility please go into My Runners (link is on the top line) and add the SI Air numbers (if any) for your saved runners.
