This is a 60-minute score event based at The Station Garden pub.

Entry fee is £3.  Courses cross roads, so no under 16s.

Start times are from 19:00 to 20:00. Sunset is at 20:19 and civil twilight at 20:57. Some of the controls are on unlit paths. There are a few grassy route-choice options but you can expect to be running mostly on gravel paths or tarmac. There are lots more houses now than when we last ran there!

You will be given a paper map but ‘punching’ and results will be managed using the MapRun app. If you haven’t got this app on your phone, download it before you arrive.  Have a look at our MapRun webpage to download the app and to read how to use it at our events.

We recommend downloading the event file before leaving home, in case of poor signal at the event.  It is available in the MapRun app at UK > Thames Valley > TVSS > Didcot23. Note that the event is passcode-protected, so you won’t be able to see the map until your are given the code at the event.

Timing begins when you reach the start / finish and stops when you return there. Your phone will ping every time you get to a control site. The sites are typically road or path junctions.

Alternatively, if you have a suitable GPS watch (which can run apps) you can use MapRun on this, an experience which many consider superior. Advice on how to set this up (via a linked phone) may be found on the MapRun website.

Facilities
